My History
Daniel was given his first set of golf clubs by his late Aunt Freda Webster. Freda was a member at a local golf club and encouraged Daniel to take up the game. His granddad Vincent Naylor was also very instrumental and gave Daniel his first golf lessons. They used to spend endless hours at the Three Hammers Golf Complex improving their technique. At 15 years of age he joined Stafford Castle Golf Club, and at 18 years old he turned Professional under the patronage of Gwyllam Hardiman. Daniel completed his P.G.A training and earned his place on the P.G.A Roll of Honour with his excellent exam results.
He took over the role of Head Professional at St Annes Old Links 10 years ago in 2001, and has thrived in the role. His dedication and enthusiasm to the game and his clients has seen him firmly establish himself as one of the North’s leading Golf Professionals.
Daniel is constantly striving to improve his service and is now a qualified mental practitioner. He is working with golfers of all standards and is coaching tour professionals and England Internationals.
Although he is mostly focused on developing his coaching and his duties at St Annes Old Links, Daniel occasionally plays in some regional P.G.A tournaments. He has had a few top ten finishes, and works hard on his game to stay tournament fit.
In 2010 Daniel was elected to be the Captain of the Lancashire P.G.A, after having been involved with the county committee for a few years now. This was a very prestigious role in which Daniel felt honoured to hold as he was nominated by his peers. Daniel has helped to set up and run events for the P.G.A and is always keen to develop the tournament section of the county organisation.
